Police keep mum on ID of man found dead in automobile

YOUNGSTOWN

Police have not released the identity of a 38-year-old man who was found dead inside a black Kia Optima at Belleview and Ellenwood avenues.

The man was sitting in the front passenger seat in a T-shirt but without his pants. His shoes, socks and boxer shorts were on the front passenger side of the car.

The car wasn’t running, and the emergency flashers were on. The keys were in the middle console, the gas cover was open and the dash was damaged. The radio was missing.

Police are going to check footage on a camera used by the city’s litter control department that was mounted on a nearby telephone pole, the report says.
