AUSTINTOWN — A Wyoming marching band touring the country is making a stop in the township Sunday and practicing three times.

Fred Morris is the band director for the Casper, Wyo., marching band that will perform in the Drum Corps International Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, which runs Aug. 6 through Aug. 8.

Morris is a 1969 Austintown Fitch graduate, who won a state title as a drummer, and will have his band practice three times Sunday on the Austintown schools campus.

The band has four charter buses and one semi-truck full of equipment and luggage and a second semi as a traveling kitchen that can serve 170 people.

The band will perform in the morning, afternoon and night on the campus. They will leave Austintown between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Sunday and play in Centerville, in southwestern Ohio, Monday.
