Now’s your chance to let township officials know what you think about the community’s future.

A survey created by the Hubbard Township Comprehensive Planning Committee will remain open until Oct. 9.

The survey, which takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete, collects demographic information, such as age and income, and asks for input on future township projects.

The CPC, a seven-person committee created in January in partnership with Trumbull County, is working to draft a long-term vision for the community.

The survey, which also provides data necessary for zoning, is the first step toward creating that plan, which township officials estimate will be complete in 2017.

Jeffrey Rowlands, committee chairman, said, “The comprehensive plan will inform the township about how to stimulate new business, create residential growth and ensure that existing residents remain residents.”

The survey, which cost $2,500 to create, came in under its $4,000 budget, Rowlands said.

This week, all township residents will receive the survey by mail. The survey is available online at the Hubbard Township Police and Hubbard Township Facebook pages. Paper versions of the survey will be available at public events including National Night Out on Tuesday, a public forum Aug. 17 and Taste of Hubbard on Sept. 27.

Township and county representatives will discuss the survey results at a public meeting tentatively scheduled for Nov. 16.
