The Tri-Gold Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to Becca Polkanowicz and Emily Damelio.

Damelio is a freshman at the University of Cincinnati’s Conservatory of Music and a graduate of Canfield High School. She is pursuing a dual major in music education and oboe performance. She serves as vice president of the Ohio Collegiate Music Association.

Polkanowicz, a freshman at Youngstown State University and a graduate of Poland High School, is a telecommunications major, a sorority member and a member of an acapella group.

To be eligible for the scholarship, a high school or college student must hold a grade point average of 2.5, be actively involved in the school and community, and have two letters of recommendation.

Since 1949 the ABWA has promoted education through scholarships.
