BLUE MOON NIGHT HIKE

When: 8:30 p.m. Friday

What: This evening marks the second full moon, also known as a “blue moon,” in the month of July. Walk the trails to the east end of the nature preserve to see the rising moon. Bring a flashlight, insect repellent, and water. Registration required. Best for ages 10 to adult.

Where: Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center Visitors Center, 16146 Daniel St. NE, Minerva, Ohio.

What: Join us on a site visit to ask questions and learn about growing vegetables.

DIVIDING DAYLILIES

When: 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 5

What: Learn how to best divide your daylilies for maximum bloom next year. Door prize given.

Where: Trumbull County Family Education and Agricultural Center, 520 W. Main St., Cortland.

Cost: Free and open to the public. No registration required.

AGVENTURE CAMP

When: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 11

Ages: 6 to 8

What: Learn about the activities and foods that go into a luau using songs, crafts, games. Bring lunch and water bottle. Snacks provided and camp will end with a luau party.

Where: MetroParks Farm, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road, Canfield

Cost: $40 residents; $45 nonresidents

SPROUT CLUB

When: 1 to 2 p.m. Aug. 6

Ages: 3 to 5, plus adult.

What: Join the Sprout Club this summer to learn about pollinators, trees, and vegetables. Each class will include a craft and snack. Attend all three classes and receive a plant-related prize.

Where: Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown.

PLANT EXCHANGE

When: 10 a.m. Aug. 15

What: Join us to trade plants, pots, garden tools and more. Late summer is the best time to split and transplant perennial plants.
