New Jersey man faces several charges

LIBERTY

Wason Neal, 40, of Old Bridge, N.J. entered pleas of not guilty during arraignment in Girard Municipal Court Monday to charges of carrying a concealed weapon, possession of criminal tools, petty theft and not having an operating license.

Police arrested Neal after receiving a report of a shoplifter arguing with security outside a Walmart on Goldie Road. A police report states that officers found a knife in Neal’s pocket and that there were two active warrants for Neal’s arrest — one out of Portage County and another out of Summit County. Walmart employees told police they saw Neal place stickers on merchandise in order to purchase at a reduced price.

Police found two New Jersey driver’s licenses and an Ohio identification card on him, according to the report. Police also found two more New Jersey driver’s licenses and 34 gift cards and store credit cards in Neal’s car.
