German Shepherd bites gunman and protects homeowner
YOUNGSTOWN
A South Side woman told police Monday one of two men fired a shot at her and missed after her German Shepherd bit one of them as he pointed a gun at her.
The 31-year-old woman told police she was awakened by a family member about 6:10 a.m. Monday who said someone knocked on the door of her home in the first block of Brooklyn Avenue but when the family member answered there was no one there.
The woman told police she looked out her window and a man was outside holding a gun and looking at her. Reports said the woman went outside and saw that man and another man on the porch of a nearby home. The men then walked off the porch and the dog attacked the men, who kicked the dog as it bit one of them on the arm and leg.
The woman called the dog back and one of the men fired a shot but missed, reports said. The men then ran away.
