Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine will be the featured speaker during a Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber Government Affairs Council luncheon at Leo’s Ristorante, 7042 E. Market St., from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the program starting at noon Aug. 13. The cost is $20 for chamber members and $30 for prospective chamber members.

Brewery owner has cancer surgery

John Chandler, the owner of Paladin Brewing LLC, is recovering from a 15-hour surgery Thursday that removed an aggressive cancerous tumor of the sinus cavity above the right eye. His family has reported he is cancer-free but will undergo chemotherapy treatment after recovering four to six weeks from the surgery. Cortland Bancorp, the holding company for Cortland Savings and Banking Co., reported net income of $916,000, or $0.21 per share, for the second quarter of 2015, compared with $1 million, or $0.23 per share, for the second quarter of 2014; and $1.1 million for the first quarter of 2015. For the first six months ended June 30, net income was $2.1 million, or $0.46 per share, compared with $2.4 million, or $0.52 per share, for the first six months ended June 30, 2014.

Quality Switch to break ground

Quality Switch, a certified designer and manufacturer of switches for use inside electrical transformers on utility power grids, will have an invitation-only groundbreaking ceremony of its new testing facility on Arlington Boulevard on Aug. 4.

Quality Switch is a second-generation, family- owned small business that will transition to a third generation and international company. The new testing facility will be named The Horace H. Sewell High Voltage Testing & Research Center in honor of the company’s founder. Sewell started Quality Machine in 1952 and operated Quality Switch as a subdivision of that business until it was incorporated as a stand-alone entity in 1974.

Burger bar sets grand opening

POLAND

COACHES Burger Bar, located near Five Points at 9065 Springfield Road, invites the public to its grand opening Monday.

The event kicks off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m.

COACHES, co-owned by married couple Patrick Howlett and Stacy Sam, features gourmet burgers, in addition to other offerings such as hand-dipped milkshakes.

The site seats up to 109 diners and features an outdoor patio.
