Man gets 8 years for paddling student he was mentoring

YOUNGSTOWN — A man convicted of paddling a student he was tutoring whenever the student gave a wrong answer was sentenced in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court today to eight years in prison.

Judge Shirley J. Christian handed down the sentence to Ericulo Henderson, 59, of Oak Hill Avenue, who was convicted June 5 of two counts of felonious assault following a two-day trial.
