ASSOCIATIONS

Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Tim Seman, genealogy and local history librarian of The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, will speak about preserving family history. Special guests will be the chapter’s scholarship recipients. The dinner menu consists of hamburgers and hot dogs; baked beans; potato, pasta and fruit salads; coffee, tea and iced tea; and apple cake for dessert. Cost is $12 per person and guests are welcome. Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild has scheduled the following Neighborhood Group meeting of Southington So-Sews meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Southington Christian Church, 3285 state Route 534, for Christmas in July. Youngstown Area Chapter of the Embroiderers Guilds of America will meet Tuesday. The morning meeting will gather at 10 a.m. and the evening at 7:30. The program at both meetings will be “Olive and Ollie” wool applique and surface embroidery, taught by Ginger Mangie. D.A.R.E. meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road. SUPPORT GROUPS

Alzheimer Network Family Support Group will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Easter Seals Adult Day Care Center, 721 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman; and at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Education Building, 251 S. Broadway Ave., Salem. The meetings are free and open to caregivers and family members of a loved one who has Alzheimer’s or other form of dementia. For information call 330-788-9755.
