Warren youth choir to present summer concert Sunday

WARREN — Warren City Wide Youth Choir will present its fifth annual summer concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Warren Community Amphitheater downtown. Special guests include local group, Kingdom Movement, and singer/songwriter Kianna Cameron.

Founded in 2011, the choir has grown from 60 participants to more than 100 youth, teens, and young adults from Warren and surrounding area. The goals of the choir are to promote unity among youth in the valley, combat negative behavior in young people and provide a forum for positive expression of musical gifts and the arts. It encourages educational excellence through a scholarship fund that has distributed more than $16,000 to graduating participants in four years.

The event is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be taken in support of the scholarship fund.

The choir’s activities and events are funded entirely by donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations. Online donations are accepted at www.gofundme.com/youthchoir. T-shirts will be sold at the event.
