BOARDMAN

A North Canton man faces felony theft charges after purportedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of hygiene products from a grocery store multiple times.

Police say Matthew Mohler, 23, stole razors, razor blades, teeth-whitening strips and toothpaste from two Giant Eagle locations.

Employees at the 1201 Doral Drive location reported May 23 and May 31 thefts in which two suspects stole nearly $2,500 worth of razors and whitening strips.

In a May 24 incident, the pair purportedly stole nearly $500 worth of whitening strips and razor cartridges from the Giant Eagle location at 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Mohler is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 4.

Charged with burglary

BOARDMAN

A Youngstown man is charged with two felony burglary charges.

Police say that Chasmar Ford, 18, of Norman Avenue, burglarized a Hillman Way apartment July 7.

The purported victims told police that Ford and two others forced their way into the apartment, attacked them and stole their phones.

Ford reportedly displayed a gun and threatened to kill one of the victims, who previously had a relationship with Ford.

Ford was arrested Tuesday. He is scheduled to appear in area court here for a preliminary hearing Aug. 4.

Sentenced to prison

WARREN

Amato Zaccone, 55, of Hubbard, will serve one year in prison on a domestic-violence charge.

Zaccone entered a guilty plea Tuesday before Judge Andrew Logan of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

Police said Zaccone held his ex-girlfriend hostage for two days in her Jacobs Road apartment in Hubbard in December 2014. She told police he beat her and held a knife to her throat.

Couple arrested

BOARDMAN

A Struthers couple was arrested early Wednesday after police say they endangered their 2-year-old granddaughter.

Koreen Demain, 54, of Lewis Street, is charged with operating a vehicle while impaired and endangering children after she purportedly drove while under the influence of drugs or alcohol to drop the child off at a Shields Road residence.

Mark Demain, 58, is charged with endangering children and also was arrested on a misdemeanor theft warrant in a July 9 theft from Walmart. Police said he also appeared to be impaired.

The two are scheduled to appear in area court today.

Pandering charges

WARREN

Cory V. Willlams, 24, of Bonnie Brae Avenue Northeast, is in the Trumbull County Jail awaiting arraignment today on 10 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation Crimes Against Children Unit, along with the Warren Police Department, Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office, Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office and FBI executed a search warrant at Williams’ house about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday looking for child pornography.

Investigators seized a computer and cellphones and took Williams to the Warren Police Department for questioning. He was charged later Wednesday and taken to the Trumbull County Jail.

If convicted, Williams could get more than 20 years in prison.
