Youngstown mayor seeks to fill vacancy on civil service commission board


YOUNGSTOWN ­— Mayor John A. McNally is accepting letters of interest from city residents wanting to serve on the civil service commission to succeed the Rev. Alfred D. Coward, who died July 10.

The commission enforces civil service rules and regulations of the city and state, including reviewing appointments, promotions, removals, suspensions, leaves of absences and other personnel actions of classified employees for the city.

Letters of interest must be submitted by Aug. 7. They can be sent to the mayor at his email – mayormcnally@youngstownohio.gov – or by mail at: City Hall, 26 S. Phelps St., Youngstown 44503.
