City changing its email system from .com to .gov

YOUNGSTOWN — The city government email system has gone, starting today, from a .com to a .gov.

That means the existing emails such as for Mayor John A. McNally will go from mayormcnally@cityofyoungstownoh.com to mayormcnally@youngstownohio.gov.

Both .com and .gov emails will work to communicate with city staff, but the city encourages people to update their address book to use .gov.

Over the next few years, the city will phase out the .com domain name.
