Boardman schools drug-testing of athletes, drivers began today

BOARDMAN — The school district today began the first round of drug-testing for the school year.

This is the second year of mandatory drug-testing of high school athletes and drivers.

Technicians took hair samples from 140 soccer, golf, tennis and volleyball players today.

Testing will continue Thursday for more fall athletes and students who wish to drive to school.

School officials expect to receive the results within a few days.
