Ohio prosecutor probing fatal shooting by UC police officer

CINCINNATI (AP) — A southwest Ohio prosecutor says his office is probing the fatal shooting of a motorist by a University of Cincinnati police officer.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters says his office is “rapidly investigating” what happened between the officer and the man he had pulled over for having a missing front license plate. Deters said today he expects an assessment to be completed by the end of next week.

University police Chief Jason Goodrich said earlier that Officer Ray Tensing was at the edge of the campus Sunday evening when he spotted a car driven by Samuel Dubose. He said sometime after the officer stopped him, a struggle apparently ensued and one shot was fired.
