Beatitude House extends back-to-school drive

As the homeless and disadvantaged children served by Beatitude House prepare for the upcoming school year, they need the assistance of the community.

A collection is being taken for back-to-school supplies and many items are needed.

The children need traditional school supplies but also items such as 3-ring binders, flash drives, notecards, book covers, pencil boxes, tissues, hand sanitizer, paper towels, sandwich-size and large zip baggies, sanitizing wipes, dry erase markers. Wide-rule and college rule notebooks and loose leaf paper are needed.

Donations of back packs, lunch bags, and gift cards that can be used to purchase school clothing, shoes, socks and underwear are also appreciated. Children range in age from elementary to high school and attend various schools.

If you are interested in donating, bring items to the administrative offices located at 238 Tod Lane, Youngstown, (on the campus of St. Edward Parish) or to our Warren location at 1370 Tod Ave. NW, Warren. Donations are accepted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. All items are needed by Aug. 3 as many schools head back early this year due to a later Labor Day holiday.
