Liberty man arraigned for theft, other charges


GIRARD — Dwayne B. Sellers, 24, of Roosevelt Drive in Liberty Township was arraigned today on numerous charges after being accused of stealing in Hubbard Township, then fleeing from police in Liberty Township Saturday afternoon.

He was charged with felony aggravated burglary, and felony receiving stolen property and misdemeanor driving under suspension, resisting arrest, failure to comply with the orders of a police officer, domestic violence, assault and criminal trespassing.

No plea was entered on the felonies; he pleaded not guilty on the misdemeanors. His bond was set at $20,000 in Girard Municipal Court.

Liberty police arrested Sellers at 8:28 p.m. after chasing him into some weeds inside Schultz Scrap Yard on Logan Gate Road after a foot chase.

Police found the victim’s wallet and cell phone and phone charger in Sellers’ pants pocket.

Hubbard Township police said they were unable to provide any details on the crimes in Hubbard Township this morning.
