Church will host safety Saturday

Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., will sponsor a Safety Day for the community from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 8 in the church and its parking lot.

Talk to experts on bicycle, fire, propane, car seat and home security safety.

There will be free eye-screening for children 2 to 10 and tours of the Step Up to Quality BUMP preschool/child care center.

There also will be free hotdogs and the opportunity to meet Boardman’s K-9 Unit and explore a firetruck.

Food vendors will sell fair food.

The event is free, and all are welcome to attend.
