Brown murder case gets delayed again
YOUNGSTOWN — A man facing a murder charge for a 2009 homicide on the East Side has his case delayed yet again.
Lawyers for Paul Brown, 36, charged in the May, 2009 death of Ashten Jackson, filed a motion in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court today asking Judge Maureen Sweeney to dismiss the case.
The case has seen two mistrials and was once dismissed, only to have the charge reinstated.
The latest mistrial was in June, when defense attorneys found out they were not provided with a video statement from another witness in the case.
Judge Sweeney will have a hearing on the motion at a later date.
