YOUNGSTOWN

Police arrested James Kennedy Jr., 49, of Youngstown on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon and using weapons while intoxicated early Saturday.

Police found a shotgun with four live rounds after stopping him on West Federal Street at 12:05 a.m. According to a police report, officers noticed Kennedy walking on South Phelps Street with his left hand supporting something inside his heavy leather coat.

Officers also smelled an odor of alcohol from Kennedy, who was speaking in slurred and repetitive speech. They took him to the Mahoning County jail.

Multiple charges

YOUNGSTOWN

Police arrested Amber Robertson, 29, of Youngstown on multiple charges Friday night.

According to a police report, officers stopped Robertson’s vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign. She struck a telephone pole after swerving around a parked car when police initiated the stop on Idora Avenue at 7:25 p.m. The vehicle she was driving was reported stolen earlier that day.

Robertson did not have a valid driver’s license and also had two warrants for failing to appear on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and walking along the roadway instead of the sidewalk.

She told police she also had a crack pipe. She was charged with receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia and cited for driving under suspension and for the stop-sign violation. She was taken to the county jail pending a court appearance Monday morning.

MCCTC open house

CANFIELD

The Adult Career Center at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center is hosting an open house at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the school, 7300 N. Palmyra Road.

Those attending will tour the school, meet the instructors and learn more about career certificate- training programs. Financial aid is available to those who qualify.
