A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:
HUBBARD
July 10
Domestic violence: A Hubbard boy, 16, was charged after his father alleged the teen had made several threats toward him and destroyed property, causing the accuser to fear for his safety.
Arrest: Jerome E. Carter, 28, of Nelson Avenue, Youngstown, was booked at the Mahoning County jail on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court on two counts of operating a vehicle impaired and one each of obstructing official business, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and failure to control a motor vehicle.
Menacing: A South Main Street man alleged a neighbor had threatened to harm him as part of a dispute regarding money owed.
July 11
Menacing: A Youngstown man alleged a man, 21, made an implied threat against him while they were at a West Liberty Street fast-food restaurant. The 21-year-old told police the accuser had made inappropriate comments to his girlfriend, who works at the eatery, a report showed.
Theft: A $100 wreath was removed from the front door to a home in the 600 block of West Park Avenue.
July 14
Theft/criminal damaging: Someone in the 200 block of Princeton Avenue smashed a vehicle’s passenger-side window and took a woman’s purse.
Theft: A global-positioning-system unit, 10 compact discs and a cellphone charger were removed from two cars in the 700 block of East Water Street.
Recovered property: A Jean Drive man found an empty purse next to his mailbox.
Menacing: A Jackson Street man reported a Hubbard man, 41, has continually threatened and harassed him, evidently after the 41-year-old man’s wife had been terminated from a business the accuser runs.
Theft: Two purses were stolen from a car in the 200 block of Jean Drive.
Theft/criminal damaging: Someone broke into a vehicle in the 200 block of Elmore Drive and took a woman’s purse.
LIBERTY
July 9
Arrest: A traffic stop near Logan Way resulted in the arrest of Butler Johnson of Logan Way, Liberty. The 23-year-old Johnson was wanted on a domestic-violence charge.
Menacing: A Trumbull Court woman reported two Youngstown men, 19 and 21, had threatened her with bodily harm during a gathering at a nearby residence.
Arrest: Authorities picked up 35-year-old James A. Anderson of Hyde Avenue, Niles, who was wanted on a township warrant.
Arrest: Officers pulled over and arrested 50-year-old Curtis Woods in the 2700 block of Youngstown-Hubbard Road. The Winter Park, Fla., man was wanted on a burglary warrant.
July 10
Theft: A Youngstown man reported $90 missing after having shopped at a store in Liberty Plaza.
July 11
Arrest: Officers responding to a report of an unwanted person on Marlane Drive took a 16-year-old Hubbard girl into custody on a felony-theft warrant from the Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Marla Lane woman said her former boyfriend took her 1996 Chevrolet Blazer without permission.
Arrest: Police observed a suspicious vehicle at a Gypsy Lane apartment complex, where they arrested Julie Gould, 31, on a township warrant. Gould, of Gypsy Lane, Youngstown, also was charged with obstructing official business when, authorities said, she provided a false name.
Theft: Two elderly Youngstown women reported their purses stolen while at a Goldie Road business.
July 12
Aggravated menacing: The owner of a Goldie Road auto-repair business alleged an irate 20-year-old Youngstown man threatened to blow up the business and harm the accuser after becoming dissatisfied with the service he had received.
Arrest: Richard A. Thompson, 38, was taken into custody at his Joann Lane residence. The Liberty man was wanted on a probation-violation charge.
July 13
Arrest: Youngstown police in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue handed to township authorities 26-year-old Michael Vicker-Morgan of Eastway Drive, Youngstown. He was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant.
Child endangerment: Officers received a complaint about an infant alone in a sport utility vehicle in the 3600 block of Belmont Avenue before charging 28-year-old Janicka D. Shuler of Manchester Avenue, Youngstown, with endangering children, a first-degree misdemeanor. A store’s surveillance camera showed that Shuler spent 12 or 13 minutes in the business while her 5-month-old infant was alone in the hot vehicle before which Mahoning County Children Services Board was notified, a police report stated.
Theft: A Boardman man reported a 55-gallon drum containing used oil filters, along with a drum lid and another item, had been stolen from Lube Stop, 2915 Belmont Ave.
July 14
Criminal damaging: A Northgate Drive woman reported that a group of youngsters tossed gravel and rocks at her car, which did an estimated $1,000 in damage.
Theft: A 9 mm semiautomatic pistol was removed from a vehicle in the 300 block of Yvonne Drive.
July 15
Menacing: A Colonial Drive woman said her former boyfriend threatened to harm her via cellphone and text messages.
GIRARD
July 12
Menacing: A man reported having gotten a threatening text message while in the 1200 block of North Main Street.
July 13
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: An Elruth Court woman said her boyfriend took her 2005 Toyota Camry without permission after they had fought.
Identity fraud: A Hazel Street woman learned that her credit-card number had been used without consent to make three online purchases.
Theft: An East Main Street woman alleged her boyfriend took her 42-inch flat-screen TV.
Theft by deception: A North Ward Avenue woman reported a man had given her an $11,000 estimate to waterproof her basement and, after giving him $8,000 up front, the man failed to finish the job after having insisted she pay him more.
July 14
Menacing: A man driving near Stewart Street told police someone got out of a vehicle and yelled at the accuser while wielding a section of a steel pipe.
July 15
Theft: Someone dug out and removed a small maple tree from a yard in the 600 block of Hazel Street.
Domestic violence: Jermaine L. White, 35, of East Wilson Avenue, Girard, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged that during a fight, White had assaulted and dragged her. The accuser suffered a large brush burn on her shoulder.
