BOARDMAN

Township police are investigating a reported case of intimidation against a Lealand Avenue resident.

The victim, 27, a black female, reported to police Wednesday that she received a racially charged, threatening letter.

The letter, addressed to “resident” and without a return address, demands the woman get out of “our white neighborhood.”

The letter repeatedly uses derogatory racial slurs and is signed “the all white neighborhood.”

Police are investigating the incident as a case of ethnic intimidation.

McCoy was taken to the Mahoning County jail, reports said. Judge Elizabeth Kobly set his bond at $100,000 during his arraignment in municipal court. Assistant City Prosecutor Jeffrey Moliterno told the judge McCoy accosted a woman he thought was a prostitute, and when she refused him, he forced her into a vacant home and raped her.

The woman then chased after him until he was caught, Moliterno said.
