A man who is accused of slamming his girlfriend’s head through a wall in February then dragging her for several feet as he drove off in her car was arraigned Friday in municipal court.

Albert Boykin, 23, of Rush Boulevard, was arraigned on charges of child endangering and domestic violence before Judge Elizabeth Kobly, who set his bond at $10,000 plus a no-contact order. He was arrested by police Wednesday.

Reports said officers were called to a Rush Boulevard home about 11:25 a.m. Feb. 10, where a woman who has a 2-year-old child with Boykin said he came to her home wanting to take her car, and the pair argued.

During the argument, Boykin slammed her head through the wall, creating a hole, and managed to get the keys.

Also during the argument, the child got into the car because he thought his mother was leaving, reports said.

Reports said Boykin got into the car and began driving away and when he did, the woman came outside and tried to stop him. She grabbed onto the car and he dragged her for several feet before she let go, reports said.

The child later was dropped off at a relative’s house.
