A Boardman man faces a felony importuning charge after he reportedly solicited sexual activity from an undercover agent online.

Charles Jaminet, 31, was arrested by agents with Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine’s Crimes Against Children Unit on Wednesday night, according to a release from DeWine’s office.

Jaminet reportedly arranged to meet someone who he believed was an underage female at an area hotel, where he then was taken into custody by the agents.

Jaminet’s arrest was part of an operation conducted by the AG’s office, Austintown Police Department, Mahoning County Law Enforcement Task Force, Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office and Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office that targeted prostitution and child solicitation and that looked for evidence of human trafficking.

Eleven other people reportedly were arrested on charges unrelated to the Jaminet case, according to the release. Charges against those individuals include soliciting prostitution and promoting prostitution.

A search of court records indicates that Jaminet previously was convicted of a misdemeanor drug-abuse charge in 2003, and of disorderly conduct in 2011.
