Man wakes up and is stabbed


YOUNGSTOWN

A 44-year-old West Side man told police he woke up about 4:05 a.m. Wednesday to an unknown man standing over him who stabbed him.

Police found the victim lying on his back and bleeding from a wound to his chest inside his home in the 100 block of North Belle Vista Avenue.

The victim told police after he was stabbed the man ran out a back door. Reports said there were no signs of forced entry to the home.

A man who lives in the home said he was awakened by the victim. Police did find a knife, reports said.

Reports did not say if the victim was taken to a hospital.
