Katie Yazvac, Kirk Johnson to marry Aug. 2

Tom and Diane Yazvac of Boardman, parents of Katie Yazvac of Grand Rapids, Mich., are announcing her engagement to Kirk Johnson of Saranac, Mich. His parents are Leroy Johnson and Debbie Duckworth of Lowell, Mich.

The couple are planning to marry at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Homestead Resort in Glen Arbor, Mich., where a reception will follow. Both will be by invitation.

The future bride graduated from Youngstown State University with her undergraduate degree and from Michigan State University, where she earned a doctor of veterinary medicine degree. She works as a veterinarian for Family Friends Veterinary Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Mr. Johnson also earned a doctor of veterinary medicine at Michigan State University. He is a doctor of veterinary medicine at Classic Equine LLC, Saranac.
