Youngstown man arrested for Boardman burglary

BOARDMAN

Township police on Tuesday arrested a Youngstown man wanted in connection with a burglary that also led to the arrest of Steven Direnzo, 43, of Lightner Place, after a police chase Monday.

Donald Patterson, 41, of East Midlothian Boulevard, surrendered himself to township police Tuesday morning.

The burglary charge stems from a July 10 incident in which Patterson and Direnzo allegedly ransacked a Sheridan Road home, taking cash and $1,000 worth of mint coins.

The pair is accused of going to a car dealership Friday, asking to test drive a car and then driving that car — with the car salesman with them — to the house they allegedly burglarized.

Patterson is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing Aug. 4.
