Man, 26, injured in gunfire in Warren
WARREN
Several gunshots were reported at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 2000 Block of North Seederle Street, one of which struck a person in the arm and another went through the first-floor window of a residence nearly striking a woman who was working in her kitchen.
Police arrived on the scene in less than two minutes, found blood on the ground and sidewalk and began searching the area for the victim and interviewing witnesses, said Sgt. Bryan Holmes, field supervisor.
The victim, a 26-year-old man, took himself to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for an arm wound, Holmes said.
As of press time Tuesday night, no arrests had been made, and police did not know the motive for the shooting nor how many people were involved.

Narcotics found in apartment building
AUSTINTOWN
Several bags of narcotics were found in an apartment building in the township Monday morning.
Authorities were called to the Pembrook Apartments, 4150 Pembrook Road, at 11:18 a.m. Austintown police were directed to a bag found in a stairwell that had 17 individual clear plastic bags containing heroin and one clear bag containing marijuana. The drugs were seized as evidence, and township police are investigating.
Boil order
BROOKFIELD
Residents of Valley View Drive in Brookfield Township between Lee Road and Northview Drive are under a boil order from the Trumbull County Sanitary Engineer’s Office until further notice.
A boil order means residents should boil the tap water to be used for drinking, cooking or oral hygiene for three to five minutes.
Full-time firefighter
AUSTINTOWN
The township fire department promoted a firefighter to full-time status Monday night.
John Ragan was sworn in Monday night to replace fire Capt. Don Conroy, who recently retired after 36 years with the department. Ragan began with the department in January 2014 as a part-time firefighter.
Ragan “will start off on the ambulance and move up to the firetrucks from there,” said Chief Andy Frost III. “John has only been with us a short time, but that says a lot about him that he’s got all his training in.”
Town-hall meeting
CANFIELD
Canfield city officials will host the last scheduled town-hall meeting on a half-percent income-tax vote after tonight’s city council meeting.
City council has its caucus meeting at 5:30 p.m. today , followed by its only meeting for July and then a town-hall meeting on the half-percent income-tax increase on the Aug. 4 special-election ballot.
City leaders have, at previous town-hall meetings, explained figures from various departments and fielded questions from residents in attendance.

Burglary reported at home in Struthers

Residents of a home on Lowellville Road reported a burglary Monday. Some $290 in cash and 186 dose units of Percocet were reported stolen. There were no signs of forced entry into the home, according to a police report.
Accidental dumping
HUBBARD
City police are investigating the accidental dumping of large rocks on North Main Street at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Police received reports of rocks strewn on the road from the Square to Park Avenue. According to the Trumbull County 911 dispatcher, no injuries were reported, but the rocks damaged a couple of vehicles. The road was cleared by 9:15 p.m.
