Some Mahoning County real estate owners get incorrect tax bills

YOUNGSTOWN

The company that mails out 115,000 real estate tax bills twice annually to Mahoning County real estate owners has sent some taxpayers the wrong bills.

However, Mahoning County Treasurer Dan Yemma said those who got the wrong bills will get correct ones within four or five days.

Voicemail boxes of treasurer’s office staff were filled as the nine-member staff received hundreds of calls on this matter beginning Monday morning.

The county spends about $85,000 annually for its tax bill printing and mailing contract with United Mail of Louisville, Ky. and Cincinnati.

The error will be rectified at the company’s expense, Yemma said.
