Lauren Whetzel and Shane Siburkis, both of Philadelphia, were united in marriage during a sunset beach ceremony May 30 at the Marco Beach Ocean Resort in Marco Island, Fla.

The Rev. Daniel Weber, uncle of the bride, officiated, and a reception took place at the resort’s oceanfront terrace.

The couple plans a wedding trip to Sweden in the fall.

The bride is a daughter of Bruce and Leigh Wetzel of Cortland, and the groom is the son of Barry (Nancy) Siburkis and Holly (Barry) Molle, all of Philadelphia.

The bride graduated from Thiel College with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and is completing a master’s degree in biomedical writing at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, where she works as a public relations coordinator.

The groom earned a bachelor’s degree in supply chain and information systems management from Penn State University and a master’s degree in systems engineering from Southern Methodist University. He is employed as a supply chain manager for IKEA North America in Philadelphia.

The bride’s twin sister, Lindsay Mathes, was the matron of honor, and the flower girl was Sophia Frank, a cousin of the bride. Attendants wore blue dresses.

Chris Nodecker performed the duties of best man, and Greg Mathes served as an usher. Brayden Frank, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.
