Cortland man gets 15 years for sex offenses

WARREN — David I. Griffin, 47, of North Mecca Street in Cortland, was sentenced to 15 years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to 11 sex offenses against a young female from 2007 to 2013.

Griffin pleaded guilty in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to two counts of rape, three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, five counts of sexual battery and one count of gross sexual imposition.

The girl was 12 when the first offense occurred. The locations were in Cortland and Warren, prosecutors said.

Griffin will be required to register as a sex offender every 90 days for the rest of his life after he leaves prison.
