City police police arrest man after he attempts to flee

YOUNGSTOWN — Police said a man tried to flee Monday after he was pulled over as part of a fight call.

Adrian German, 23, of High Street in Warren, is in the Mahoning County jail today on charges of possession of dangerous drugs, resisting arrest and obstruction of official business.

German was driving a car that was pulled over at about 12:30 p.m. at Oregon Avenue and Tracy Lane. A caller to 911 said German was arguing with a woman nearby and had a handgun.

Officers took German out of the car and searched him and when they did he tried to run away but was tackled before he got very far, reports said.

Reports said German had three pills on him and officers thought he had a bag of drugs in his underwear but when he got to the jail, the bag could not be found, reports said.

German had told corrections he had "dope" in his clothes but they still could not find them, reports said.
