STRUTHERS

The Astro Falcons scored twice in the top of the seventh to break a 1-1 tie to take a 1-0 series lead. Mark Gross went the distance in the win for Astro, yielding just one run on four hits, while striking out four and walking two. Luke Hils suffered the loss, allowing three runs (two earned) on nine hits i while striking out three and walking none. Kyle Benyo had three hits and scored twice. Hunter Snyder had two hits and one RBI while Noah Laster doubled and scored a run. Riley Campbell hit a RBI single. For Glaciers, Jason Swope led the Glaciers with two hits and an RBI, driving in Logan Snyder.

Rizer Group 15, Ohio Longhorns 0

STRUTHERS

Mark Torselo tossed a two-hit complete game shutout while striking out three and walking one. On offense, Torselo contributed two hits, one RBI and four runs scored. Malik Caige’s two hits included a two-run triple. He drove in four runs and scored once. Bob Cavalier had two hits, two runs and one RBI while Braedon O’Shaughnessy added two hits, one RBI and one run. Dom Pilolli had two hits and one RBI while Jaxon Anderson had a hit and scored three times. Brian Shevitz contributed a hit and scored twice. For the Longhorns, DJ Snyder had both hits.

Rizer Group 3, Elite Impact

Caige threw a six-hit shout as Rizer Group won the tournament. Caige struck out seven and walked one. Bryce Vogel suffered the loss for Elite, yielding two runs (one earned) on three hits in four-and-a-third innings. Dom Pilolli led the offense with two hits, two runs and one RBI. Braedon O’Shaughnessy had a hit and an RBI while Caige scored a run. For Impact, Tyler Savron and Gary Thonen each had two hits.

STRUTHERS

Colin Roth pitched a complete game for Baird, allowing two runs on three hits, while striking out three and walking one. Danny Williams had three hits including a pair of two-run doubles. He drove in six runs and scored twice. JJ Nicholas had four hits, scored twice and drive in two runs. Vinnie Monico had two hits, three runs and one RBI while while Blake Benyo contributed a hit, two RBIs and three runs. Haden Sherwood drove in two runs while Nick Bianco and Coleman Stauffer each scored two runs. For Stingrays, Ryan Venter hit an RBI double and scored a run.

Ryan Petro struck out 11 batters in the five-and-twp-thirds innings he pitched. pitched. Colin Burdette had two hits and drove in two runs. In the district tournament, Canfield outscored its opponents 26-1. Canfield advances to the state tournament in Ashtabula, that begins on Aug. 1.
