Staff report

The Trumbull County Travel Club has summer day trips scheduled, and members welcome guests who would like to join upcoming outings.

Thirty-six club members recently visited Lancaster, Pa., to attend a live performance of “Joseph” at the Sight and Sound Theatre and “Les Miserables” at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre.

For a step back in time, travelers will journey to Canal Fulton on July 23. A canal boat ride pulled by a team of horses will take members to Lock IV before a luncheon stop at the Century House, with dessert included at Oser’s Dairy & Deli.

Included in the itinerary will be a guided tour of Canal Fulton Glassworks, a stop at Harry London Candies and shopping in the historic area of the city.

Only four seats remain for this trip.

A new venture for the club will be an Aug. 15 excursion to see a live performance at the Rabbit Run Theatre, in Madison, Ohio.

The show is “Private Lives,” a comedy about two people divorced from each other who run into each other at the same resort while on their honeymoons.

Dinner and a wine tasting are included in the package. This trip also is open to the public, but only 10 openings remain.

Departure is planned for about 3:30 p.m., and return time is about 11:30 p.m.

Also coming up is an Oct. 20 through 24 Williamsburg, Va., and Washington, D.C., vacation, which includes two days in Williamsburg and three in Washington.

Trip insurance is available, and a $100 deposit is requested to hold a seat and room. Final payment is due by Sept. 4.

The club is open to any person at least 21 years old. Members travel by motor coach, cruise ship, train and plane.

When they fly, members leave Howland for the airport together as a group and return from the airport as a group.

The club requires no membership dues. To receive printed information on upcoming trips call 330-856-5398. A self-addressed, stamped business-size envelope must be sent to receive the literature.
