The second Women in Entrepreneurship Event hosted by the Youngstown Business Incubator will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
The event at the YBI, 241 W. Federal St., will feature a “Startup 101” discussion with Jim Cossler, chief executive officer of the YBI.
The program will cover the essentials for a successful startup: how to find a killer idea; how to verify whether a market exists for the idea; how to recruit top talent to your startup; what investors are looking for and how to pitch; and why the business-to-business startup has the best chance of succeeding. Rebuilding America Part 3: Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Strategies will take place from 8 to 9 a.m. July 30 at the Tyler History Center, 323 W. Federal St.
Networking and breakfast starts at 7:15 a.m. A tour of America Makes will follow the program at 9 a.m.
America Makes’ deputy director of Workforce and Educational Outreach Mike Hripko will discuss these challenges and workforce issues. Later, panelists will join Hripko for a question and answer session.

SBA webinar offers tips on financing

The Small Business Administration will have a “Financing Your Business” webinar Tuesday.
The free webinar will provide information about financing options for a business including SBA loans, programs and services.
There also will be discussions about how to apply for a loan and what to include in your business plan.

InDepth session to feature official from oil, gas industry

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s next InDepth session will be with Mike Chadsey of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Tippecanoe Country Club, 5870 Tippecanoe Road on July 23.
Breakfast starts at 7:15 a.m.
Chadsey will provide updates on what is happening in the industry today and what could impact the region’s future.
