Three vehicle accident on Mahoning in North Jackson injures 3 today

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that sent three people to the hospital this morning.

The crash occurred near the instersection of Duck Creek Road and Mahoning Avenue at 11:42 a.m.

John Progar, 58, of Canfield stopped at the intersection preparing to turn south onto Duck Creek Road. A second car struck Progar’s vehicle causing him to hit Wanda Emerick, 56, and Wayne Emerick, 68, both from Lousiville, who were riding together on a motorcycle.

Progar and the Emericks were transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. The driver of the second vehicle did not claim any injuries.

The patrol said the injuries were serious but appear to be not life-threatening.
