Metal detector club is a hidden gem in the Valley
Metal detector club is a hidden gem in the Valley
We had been un- able to find an underground shutoff valve on an underground water line. Over the years, turf had covered the plastic cover that allowed us to access the valve.
The resulting frozen pipes in an out building have had to be repaired year after year.
That problem was eliminated today. Two very determined men from the Tri-County Metal Detecting Club used metal detectors and found the shutoff valve this afternoon.
It wasn’t where we thought it was, but Mike and Jessie remained determined and kept looking until it was found.
Although this treasure hunt didn’t turn up coins or a diamond ring, the two club members found what we needed.
We offered to make a donation to the club, but all they asked was that we spread the word that this club is available when people need to find a lost item, or in our case, a buried shutoff valve.
