Aviles was at the hospital with his daughter Friday before arriving at Progressive Field, and he then left to return to the hospital before the start of that night’s game against Oakland.

On Saturday, he called manager Terry Francona to say, “I need to be there.”

Aviles was originally on the list from May 8-14 and was moved to the restricted list from May 15-17 before returning to the Indians.
