YOUNGSTOWN

A car, 16 new tires valued with a value of $2,000, tools valued at $1,000 and $1,800 in cash were taken from a Loveland Road tire shop about 6:40 a.m. Thursday.

Police were called to Elmo Tire, 3688 Loveland Road for an alarm call and when they arrived they found a rear garage-door open.

Reports said the office was ransacked, and a jack was found in the parking lot. The owner told police the car that was taken was on the jack in the garage and being worked on.

Computer classes

The Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership, 1325 Fifth Ave., is offering upcoming basic computer-skills classes.

All participants must be residents of Mahoning County who are 18 and older that are income eligible at or below the 125 percent federal poverty guidelines. Classes will take place at MYCAP office and are from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 22 and July 23.

Those who complete the three-hour course will receive a computer literacy certificate and be entered in a weekly drawing for a gift card and a drawing for a free laptop.

Before registration, participants are required to submit documentation that includes household income for the last 90 days, Social Security card for all household members and photo identification. To register call 330-747-7921.
