Campbell police arrest two on drug-possession charges
CAMPBELL — Police arrested two Campbell residents late Friday night on multiple felony drug-possession charges, including the possession of LSD.
Police pulled over a white Pontiac sedan at Wilson Avenue near Fairview Avenue, because the rear license plate and the validation sticker were covered by a plastic border, according to a police report.
The driver, Nicholas Hovey, 24, of Reed Avenue produced a suspended temporary driver’s permit. He informed police he had a knife in his pocket but was searched for other weapons after he got out of the vehicle.
Due to a strong odor of fresh marijuana emitting from the car, police conducted a probable-cause search of the sedan after the passenger, Angelina Soto, 23, of Reed Avenue, left the vehicle.
Police found a glass jar in the trunk of the sedan, suspected of containing 17.6 grams of marijuana, 5.8 grams of suspected heroin in a bag, 53 unit doses of suspected LSD and 21.5 grams of suspected hashish in a plastic bag. A black scale was also found in the trunk. Police also confiscated $103.
