Fake $100 passed at Austintown Giant Eagle

AUSTINTOWN

A $100 counterfeit bill was used at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave., this week.

The fake bill was reported to Austintown police at 12:57 p.m. Thursday. An employee of the grocery store said it was used sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Austintown Detective Shawn Hevener said township authorities have “been seeing more of the $20 bills than $100” counterfeit bills.
