Italian fest pageant is taking applications

Applications are being accepted for the 2015 Greater Youngstown Italian Festival Pageant.

The pageant will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. July 31 on the main stage in Central Square.

The pageant is culture-based. Any young lady between the ages of 16 and 24 may enter if she has Italian as part of her descent.

The pageant gives them the chance to present a brief speech about their heritage, respond to a question from the judge and present a talent.
