Local auto sales up 5.6 percent in June

YOUNGSTOWN — June auto sales in the Mahoning Valley were up 5.6 percent over last June’s sales.

A total of 6,532 new and used vehicles were sold – up from 6,187 sales last year, according to data released today by the Automobile Dealers Association of Eastern Ohio.

The data is compiled from titles processed at county title departments by the final business day each month.

New sales for the month were up 4.6 percent over last June, and used sales were up 6.3 percent.

Leading local dealers were: Greenwood Chevrolet of Austintown with 311 new and used vehicle sales; Sweeney Chevrolet of Boardman with 286 sales; and Stadium GM Superstore of Salem with 237 sales.
