Former Dayton basketball player found guilty in burglaries

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A southwest Ohio prosecutor says a former University of Dayton basketball player has been found guilty of burglary and trespassing charges involving break-ins on campus.

Montgomery County’s prosecutor says 21-year-old Devon Scott pleaded guilty today to two burglary counts and three counts of trespass in a habitation. Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. says some dormitory rooms were broken into and property was stolen Dec. 14, and Scott and fellow player Jalen Robinson were identified.

The plea agreement recommends Scott be sentenced to three months in jail and ordered to pay restitution. Robinson was convicted of three counts of trespass in a habitation and sentenced to 30 days in jail and restitution.

Both were dismissed from the team and withdrew from the university.
