Drug arrest follows wrong-way vehicle stop

Officers found 6.3 grams of suspected marijuana after stopping a vehicle headed the wrong way on Robinson Road on Tuesday, according to a police report. The driver, John Mortensen, 28, of Youngstown, has a registered handgun, the police report states. Police arrested Mortensen for possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia and handling a firearm while under the influence.

Police also arrested the vehicle's passenger, Terrance Barnes, 44, of Youngstown for possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia and failure to appear on a previous warrant.

Barnes will be held without bond at the Mahoning County jail until his arraignment Friday.

Mortensen, who will be arraigned Friday, was released from Campbell City Jail after posting 10 percent cash of his $5,750 bond.
