Ex-state Rep. Robert F. Hagan now a lobbyist in D.C.

YOUNGSTOWN — Ex-state Rep. Robert F. Hagan will be the director of political and legislative affairs for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, effective Monday.

Hagan, a Youngstown Democrat, will be headquartered in Washington, D.C. He resigned from the state board of education, effective July 1. But he will remain a Democratic state central committeeman despite being based out of Washington. Michele Lepore-Hagan, his wife, succeeded him representing the 58th Ohio House District after he couldn’t seek another term because of state term-limit laws. Lepore-Hagan said she is running for re-election next year.

Hagan has worked 44 years on the railroad, and is a CSX locomotive engineer.

He will lobby for legislative issues and handle political education under the direction of national President Dennis R. Pierce and John P. Tolman, the union’s vice president and national legislative representative.
