Boardman police investigate string of burglaries

Township police are investigating several burglaries reported over the weekend.

Police responded to a Shields Road apartment just after 5 a.m. Saturday after a woman reported being woken up by someone trying to enter the apartment through a window.

The intruder reportedly fled after she screamed. No damage was done to the property and nothing was taken.

About 10:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a Mathews Road residence, where the owner said someone had forced their way into the house, ransacked it and taken cable boxes.

The relative of a Tara Drive resident reported to police Sunday afternoon that he noticed signs of forced entry into the house. Nothing was missing from the house.

Police responded to West Boulevard about 6 p.m. Sunday on a report that someone had broken into a house sometime during the weekend.

The resident reportedly was missing a gaming console and controllers.
