Event to celebrate Father Kane camp
YOUNGSTOWN
St. Patrick Parish, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., will host a picnic celebrating the legacy of Father Kane Camp on Aug. 16.
The day will begin with a Mass at 10 a.m., followed by a flag raising at 11:15 p.m. and blessing of the totem pole from the camp. The picnic will begin at noon, and is designed to bring back memories of the camp. It will include a “craft den,” food, a scavenger hunt and a campfire with songs and snacks.
Anyone with photos, craft and artifacts from their days at the camp are asked to bring them, or scan and email them, so they can be shared.
