Crew rallies for win
COLUMBUS
Kei Kamara set up Ethan Finlay’s two goals, and the Columbus Crew rallied to beat the New York Red Bulls 2-1.
The Kamara-to-Finlay connection was a role reversal for the league leaders in goals (Kamara 12) and assists (Finlay 10).
Finlay punched in Kamara’s header to give Columbus the lead in the 74th minute. The Crew (6-6-6) held on from there and moved ahead of the Red Bulls (6-6-5) in the Eastern Conference standings.
Anatole Abang put the Red Bulls in front in the eighth minute, beating goalkeeper Steve Clark with a roller inside the far post.
Finlay tied it in the 33rd, taking a flick header from Kamara, cutting back and curling a left-footed shot into the net. Clark was credited with an assist on the long ball to Kamara.
Red Bulls coach Jesse Marsch was sent off in stoppage time.
Packers tight end charged for firing shots
MIAMI BEACH, Fla.
Green Bay Packers tight end Andrew Quarless was arrested Saturday after police said he allegedly fired two shots into the air during an argument outside a Miami Beach parking garage, authorities said.
Miami Beach Police say a witness reported that Quarless was riding in a black Porsche with three other people Saturday around 5 a.m. when they pulled up to a car full of women. An arrest affidavit says the football player and another man approached the car. It said the conversation eventually escalated and the witness told authorities he heard the women yelling for Quarless and his friend to leave them alone.
That’s when authorities say Quarless, who is entering his sixth season with the Packers, pulled out a handgun and fired two shots in the air. Quarless and the driver of the Porsche fled, but were later found and the gun was recovered, the affidavit states.
He was charged with discharging a firearm in public.
